Another Year…

Another New Year's Day has come and gone. One year ends and leads into the next. This year was a great year for Northern Colorado Youth for Christ. We interacted in with thousands of kids and had meaningful friendship forged over the course of 2011. We continued to operate Higher Grounds and The Farm as a way to reach out to youth in our community. Every Friday night we had sessions that connect with kids in a way that interests them, both socially and spiritually. Jeff Neel continued to operate Whizzle Nizzle Dogs at Central High School and has gotten kids that may not have come to one of our other events involved in the ministry.

This Christmas some of the kids from The Farm baked cookies and goodies for people that work in the retail sector, as Christmas is a very stressful time of the year. I know that it was a blessing to the kids involved and a well-received surprise to the employees of the stores that received the treats.

In July, Marcy and Ryan took some high school students and volunteers to work as support staff and YFCamp in Woodland Park. This was a great bonding experience and a great learning time on serving others. It was a very powerful week.

In May we held our annual Prom. It was an amazing time. This year we relied on the youth to help pull it off more than ever. We had about 100 youth attend and they got experience how much God loves them in a unique and real way.

Throughout the year we had several concerts with national and local acts providing some great entertainment.

As always, we had large group bible studies, discussions, and small group bible studies every week throughout the year. This year we had small groups partnering with Dayspring and groups with Frontier students.

I am grateful for the new volunteers that we have had this year and with the growth of our board of director. I look forward to see how God uses us all in 2012.

Thank you so much for being a part of this ministry.

Happy new year,
